Six Months, progress shot, 48″ x 26″, oil on linen
I don’t have much time to write today, I have been painting all morning, and running off to drop off a painting in a few minutes. But, I am really pleased with the progress of this morning’s work. Here is my wife, Margaret, posing for me. She is six months pregnant. Six months pregnant, and posing for her artist husband- I am really surrounded by such an amazing circle of supporters.
I don’t suppose Liam would manage to keep still and pose while you painted him.
It’s a bit off the subject, but I’m reminded of a pigeon I wanted to photograph when I was standing on top of the city wall in Krakow (where my father came from). I said, “Please stand still while I take your picture.” The bird stopped walking, faced me, and may even have smiled in pigeon style. I took the snapshot, and then the pigeon resumed walking.
Do you have that photo? I’d love to see it.
I hope to paint Liam soon- maybe I haven’t done so because I am intimidated by his innocence, his otherworldly beauty. How could I capture that? I’ve got to try.
